The Evaporator Coils are the components responsible for actually generating the cold temperatures inside your refrigerator and freezer compartments. While the condenser coils "dump" heat outside, the evaporator coils "pick up" heat from the inside.
As cold, low-pressure liquid refrigerant enters these coils, it absorbs heat from the air inside the appliance. This causes the refrigerant to evaporate (boil) into a gas. By removing this thermal energy, the coils significantly lower the temperature of the surrounding air
