Evaporator Coils

As cold, low-pressure liquid refrigerant enters these coils, it absorbs heat from the air inside the appliance. This causes the refrigerant to evaporate (boil) into a gas. By removing this thermal energy, the coils significantly lower the temperature of the surrounding air

• Don't Chip at Ice: If you see ice buildup, never use a knife or sharp tool to scrape it off, as the coils are made of soft aluminum or copper and are easily punctured, which will cause a permanent refrigerant leak.
• Check Airflow: Ensure that food items are not blocking the vents that allow air to circulate over the coils
