A Locking Plier is a multi-functional tool used for clamping, holding, and turning stubborn or rounded-off fasteners. It features a specialized mechanical toggle-joint that allows the jaws to stay locked in position without requiring constant hand pressure.
How the Product Works
This tool uses a powerful compound leverage system combined with a locking mechanism.
- Adjustable Jaw Width: You turn the adjustment screw at the end of the handle to set the desired jaw opening for the object you want to grip.
- The Locking Action: When you squeeze the handles together, the internal toggle-joint snaps into a "dead center" position. This locks the jaws onto the object with immense force.
- Hands-Free Grip: Once locked, you can let go of the handles and the tool will remain firmly attached. This is ideal for holding two pieces of metal together for welding or acting as a temporary handle.
- Quick Release: To remove the tool, you simply press the release lever located on the inside of one handle. This triggers the spring-loaded mechanism to pop the jaws open instantly.
